However, multiple allegations of fraud and irregularities emerged from the opposite party which resulted in an investigation. Albert Onda Ossa, a politician who became second in the election was amongst those who denounced fraud.
The official election results were announced on Gabon national television in the middle of the night. At that period, the whole country was under curfew. The internet was also cut off throughout the nation.
Recently, a group of ten military personnel announced the coup after taking over the nation. In addition, They made it clear that they had taken over powerful government bodies.
The militarian also announced that the 2023 Gabonese general election was invalidated. Furthermore, they added that Ali Bondo won’t be standing in power anymore.

In the video one officer says, “We have decided to defend the peace by putting an end to the current regime”. He then adds, “The general elections of August 26, 2023, as well as the results, are canceled.
“The borders are closed until the new year,” the officer confirmed.
